SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 10

Commemorating the gallant public service of law-enforcement
officers who have given their lives for the preservation of
peace and the protection of West Virginia's citizens.
Whereas, The safety, protection and welfare of the citizens
of the state of West Virginia is the duty of law-enforcement
officers throughout the state; and
Whereas, In the performance of their duty, West Virginia's
law-enforcement officers place themselves in danger and
uncertainty with every call for their assistance; and
Whereas, One hundred eight law-enforcement officers have
fallen in the line of their gallant and courageous duty to
preserve and protect law and order in West Virginia; therefore,
be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes the gallantry and courageous service performed by law-enforcement officers
throughout the state of West Virginia for the protection of our
citizens; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Senate honors the memory of all
law-enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty in
the name of law and order in the state of West Virginia, giving
their lives for the protection of others and the preservation of
peace.
